Does anyone else get bothered when they read a comic and the speech bubble tail points way too vaguely at the person talking--like, earlier I saw one pointing at the person's crotch --or am I bothered just because I'm a (neurotic) comics artist?

I'ma say yes I get bothered by speech bubbles, but tbf the poor placement of the tails of the bubbles are less of bother to me than poor placement of the bubbles themselves.

I wish I had an actual example at the top of my head but basically sometimes comics have speech bubbles placed in away that it can make it confusing to read them in the correct order.

I have a problem with western comic artists who read too much manga and write their pages right to left without telling the reader:

"Hey! I know my art style leads you to believe my comic is to be read in the western conventional left to right, but this comic is to be read the weeb method!"

And then, there’s me who gets very confused after reading a bunch of manga and then goes to check a web comic update and reads the speech bubbles backwards because my mind is in L<—R mode.

What were you doing on November 14th, 2012?

Me? I was purchasing this beautiful trackball mouse:

Today I woke up to discover that my beautiful boy was no longer working properly. I'd move the trackball, and the cursor would only go about 2 pixels at a time before stopping. I could barely move my mouse at all.

Well, I thought, it's had a good run. The scroll wheel has been almost rubbed to nothing, and we all run out of time eventually.

@Avidro suggested that it simply needed to be cleaned, but no... I had cleaned it recently, and it NEVER acts this way, even when it's been a while since I've cleaned it.

But, before coughing up $40 for a new one, I'd do my due diligence... I restarted the driver. Nothing. I restarted my computer. Nothing.

Time to buy the new one?

Well, I was willing to give it one last look. I took out the trackball and peeked inside, wondering if the laser was blocked. As the red light blinded me, I saw everything looked normal. Just in case, though, I gave it a good scrubbing.

I popped the trackball on again and... well, I'll be darned. It works perfectly again. (Except the scroll wheel--it really screams "I was bought 11 years ago and have been used daily since; please put me out of my misery.")

My first webtoon Like It Or Not was the first time I produced "Oegyein", and it's a funny yet short story.

Since the comic started out as a simple slightly relatable slice of life, the unnamed male protagonist (UMP) was originally meant to be me, and was an idyllic self representation of my 14 year old self that I'd been using for years.

When the comic started picking up regular readers and a plot, I wanted to communicate with them akin to how Zules communicates to us via Dear Dzuna, but I felt as though using UMP and inferring that I was the protagonist would be rather vain. I ended up separating myself from that avatar and making Oegyein.

The appearance of Oegyein came from the realization that a lot of popular comic artists have some sort of gimmick or trademark (I.e. Zules' hat and shadow eyes, Hussie's lack of facial features, Shenanigansen's gray nose. I remember one artist had a friend egg on her shirt.) So I chose my avatar to be an alien. The name was chosen because it's Korean for Alien, and suddenly my whole online persona feels significantly less creative XD
