Hi. All y'all's birthday wishes summoned me back here.

See, now -- this is the down side of getting a different job with clear working hours and to-do lists. It means I don't sit on the internet and chat with people while waiting for someone to reply to my emails and give me some direction while fighting the ever-present anxiety that I'm supposed to be doing work -- if I only knew what it was I was supposed to be doing....

So as a result, I've been conspicuously absent from my internet hang outs for the last year. >_> But on the other hand, the lack of anxiety and mushy work days without clear boundaries has been wonderful. xD

I work for the evil empire — for now. I’m working as a legal assistant for a firm that defends employers against workers comp claims. It’s a first step toward my goal of working for a legal clinic or some sort of legal assistance organization. But for now, I’m putting in my “two years experience in a legal office” every job seems to want. And quietly celebrating whenever my bosses complain about losing a case, or about new laws that make their cases harder to win.

It’s definitely a lot healthier for me than my previous job, even if I object to the entire system they’re upholding. It really is wonderful to not struggle to figure out what I’m supposed to be doing day to day. And to be able to walk away and not care a wit about it any time I’m not being paid to care.

I really should have posted about this in "I'M EXCITED!", but since we're on the subject: I graduated last week (!!!) and am in the thick of applying and interviewing for my first "real" job out of college! There's a really promising Technical Writer opening at a local software company that seems perfect for my skillset and what kind of schedule, travel distance, compensation & benefits I've been looking for. I spoke for over 30 minutes with the VP of Talent Acquisition there yesterday afternoon, just hours after submitting my application (a good sign!), and I should be getting a follow-up phone or Zoom interview with the VP overseeing the department I would be working in sometime Monday.

Praying for a good outcome from all this I trust the Lord to put me where He wants me, so long as I do the work I'm supposed to be doing along the way.

Depends on what you mean by "how surreal". It also depends on what you mean by "scale of". It also depends on what you mean by "one to {1, 2, 3, 4, ... | ω }". It also depends on what you mean by "you guys". It also depends on what you mean by "rn". It also depends on what you mean by "are". It also depends on what you mean by "on a".
.... But on a scale of 1 to an uncountable number of numbers, I'd say that I'm on some uncountable number that is about 1/10th of the total uncountable numbers. I am a very normal person in my opinion. Everyone else is just weird.
