I feel you bro. I finally got my new pair last Friday after they took a bunch of money off me for a pair they couldn't supply and then called me back in as if that was somehow my fault to pick different frame.

They had the same frames I'd picked the first time still on the shelves so I chose them again and the dude in the shop looked them up and went "oh, these are discontinued too, you should pick a different pair" How is this any way to run a shop, if you don't have it on to sell don't have it on your shelf for me to pick and DEFINITELY don't take people's money for it and then call them up and say "whoops, we don't actually have that". I'm not giving them my business again.

So like super first world problems but there have been recent proposed changes to how assets are taxed in Australia. I agree with those changes but they have cause a dip in the property market at the exact time I need there not to be. Its a long story but it may break a plan that I have spent years orchestrating.

I did notice that when trying to get on to see the new page. I wondered what was going on. Never considered it was down to stupid scrapers ruining the internet :-(

This is upsetting because I just wanted to share cool stuff on my own server
and I was successful at this since 2014
without being forced to deal with bot invasions.

I received a demand for payment from the city office.
Apparently I have an unpaid payment, 194.18 PLN and some extra for delay.
I don't remember receiving an invoice.

Also I remember I had the same issue last year.
Then I thought I just forgot or something.
But this year I was sure that I didn't receive anything.

I checked my documents.
I keep received documents organised into paper folders by category, so that I could find.

I had similar demands for missed payments, from previous years, but not every year, otherwise I would have noticed the pattern sooner as it would be highly unlikely to forget the same payment every year.
For example in 2022 they send it after not paying it 4 times.

But still no invoice each year.
Finally I found the paper from 2018 where it's written that this is a yearly payment.
So they didn't bother to send the same thing again every next year.
I only paid it once in 2018.
and then only after getting the demands after missing it next years.

Ok, so I wanted to set up an automatic yearly payment in my bank,
otherwise I will miss it again.
I cannot do it.
I my bank's online interface I can only choose the recurring payments to be:

• workdays
• all days
• every 7 days
• every 1, 2, 3, or 6 months.

Such an obvious option is missing.
I'm upset.

Yesterday they announced they are closing my worksite and moving us to another town. I've built my life here over 20 years and the causal-ness with which they can make massive earth shattering changes to our lives with no semblance of apology or remorse stings. I still have a job at least so I shouldn't complain too much, it could be worse, but I'm still mad. I don't want to move house but I also don't want to have a long commute, they're forcing me to choose between two things I don't want like it's some sort of general election ;-s
