24 Hour Comics Day

Next Saturday is 24 Hour Comics Day, and during a complete lapse of sanity, me and a couple of my webcomicker friends agreed to all participate this year.

Here's the dare, and here's the website.

I've never done this before, and the thing that scares me most is:

No sketches, designs, plot summaries or any other kind of direct preparation can precede the 24 hour period.

which is not how I operate at all!!! It's been killing me not to plan!

I've been trying to practice drawing quick comic pages, though. I haven't had a whole lot of success, yet, so I feel unprepared.

But anyway, I'll probably post my comic in real-time in this thread. It's probably going to be horrible, but that's okay. Horribleness can be inspiring.

Serious answer, though: probably because I'm used to full-color comics where black splotches don't look like blood, so I didn't even think about it!

The first half is the hard part. Once you get half way you can just reuse the previous frames in reverse order and have the story be that time started flowing in reverse. At least, that is what I would do.

Alright, this starts tonight

I'm planning on starting at 6PM my time (instead of midnight) because I have plans tomorrow evening and won't be able to work until midnight. So I'll do it from 6PM to 6PM, I think?

I still have nooo idea what I'm gonna create. It's driving me crazy

1. Will you be sharing the pages every hour?
2. If so, how? Twitter or in this thread?
3. Will Avidro be doing the sharing so that the time it takes to share it doesn't each into precious drawing time? (Less of a question and more of a suggestion)

3. Smart idea, but it won't take me very long to post them myself. Also, he has class tomorrow morning so he'll be sleeping through the night, unlike me

So, just in case anyone's following live right now, I wanted to say that I'll be starting in just under 30 minutes, but I'll start out by doing some behind-the-scenes brainstorming, designing, and planning, so the first page might not be up for a little while. Hopefully they'll come rapidly after that, though.
