Yeah it was only on for a single series in 2007. Quite a few of the skits were like this, mocking certain adverts with this one being based on the Barry Scott Cillit Bang ads:

There's a universal rule that every guitar player must play Wonderwall as often as they can. My brothers do it. My friends do it. A very guitarist I've ever met plays Wonderwall.

Probably because the song itself is so recognisable, most people know from the opening chord what it is and have a vague idea of what the lyrics are (though I like 'Don't Look Back in Anger' more if we're talking Oasis). Similar to 'Smoke on the water' by Deep Purple or 'La Grange' by ZZ Top, but you can understand what Liam and Noel sing.
